Tonight He came
Tonight he came, so full of pain, my heart ached to see him so sad again
I wanted to shout, to say fight, you must fight
I looked at his face, it would'nt be right.
Instead I held him in my arms and felt him tremble there
He pressed his body close to me, for comfort, nothing more
And my body became a vessel into which he could pour
All the pain and suffering, he found so hard to bear.
He said "Oh God take it away, I cannot stand much more."
We are so close, we've shared so much, I know his joy, his pain, his touch
We speak no words of love because there is no need
We look, we see, we feel, thats tenderness indeed.
The bond we have would be hard to break, he needs, I give, all he can take
He touches my heart when he touches my cheek, there is no need for him to speak.
I must help him with this fight, through the days and long dark nights
Until the time for fear has gone and seasons have passed one by one.
If it's meant to be, him and me, words will be spoken tenderly.
So we must wait and hope and pray, for time to heal, day by day
A little here a little there, but it can be helped by a silent prayer.
